He Is Risen — And That Changes Everything
Mary came to the tomb that Sunday morning with a heavy heart, carrying spices and sorrow. She was not looking for a miracle. She was looking for a body. But what she found instead would change her life — and ours — forever.
The tomb was empty. And when she heard her name spoken by the risen Christ, everything shifted.
That is still how Jesus works today. He meets us in our moments of grief and confusion, calls us by name, and reminds us — He is alive.
The Resurrected Jesus Is Greater
Before the resurrection, Jesus performed miracles by being physically present. To be healed, you had to find Him. To receive peace, you had to follow Him. His power was with Him and Him alone.
But resurrection changed the equation entirely.
When Christ rose from the dead, He breathed the Holy Spirit onto His disciples and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). The same men who could not pray for one hour, who failed to heal the sick girl in Matthew 17 — those same men, after receiving the Spirit, began healing the lame, casting out demons, and turning cities upside down for God.
Peter’s shadow alone brought healing to the sick in the streets. Why? Because the resurrected Jesus had empowered him.
The resurrection did not just prove that Jesus lives — it released His power into us.
You Are Not Alone
The last promise of the resurrected Jesus was this:
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:20
This is the word He left us with. Not a method. Not a manual. A presence.
You may be facing something today that feels impossible to carry — a sickness, a broken relationship, financial pressure, or a grief you cannot name. In those dark moments, it is easy to feel completely alone. But the risen Christ does not leave when life gets hard. He is your companion in the valley, your strength in the fire, your peace in the storm.
The women heading to the tomb that morning worried, “Who will roll the stone away for us?” By the time they arrived, the stone was already gone. God had gone ahead of them.
He goes ahead of you too.
Reflection
Am I living as though Jesus is merely a historical figure, or as the risen, present Lord who lives within me?
In what area of my life have I been carrying a burden alone, forgetting that His Spirit dwells in me?
What stone am I worried about today that He may have already moved?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for not staying in the grave. Thank You that resurrection was not just for that Sunday morning — it was for every morning of my life. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to walk in the authority You have given me and to rest in the peace You promised. Remind me today that I am never alone. You are with me — always. Amen.
