It all began in 2000, not with a plan to start a church, but through a personal crisis.

Pr. Hope Zinomugisha fell seriously ill, and despite seeking help from hospitals and traditional healers, there was no improvement. In desperation, the family turned to prayer.

Prayer teams from different churches, including Anglican ministers and members of Grace Church, began visiting and supporting them. A key turning point came when Ibrahim Karegeya advised them to meet regularly and pray specifically for healing. These small prayer gatherings gradually grew as more people joined, drawn by the strong sense of faith and hope. Over time, what started as a search for healing naturally developed into a fellowship, which eventually became Jesus Alive Church Kisaasi.
